VAT rise to 20%

On the 4th January the standard VAT rate will go up to 20%. To help you make this transition to the new rate we'll automatically update the 17.5% rate of any Insight sites hosted in the UK to the new standard VAT rate on the 4th January. This article outlines how this change will impact you.

If your prices DON'T include VAT

If you charge the standard VAT rate on the items for sale on your website but your prices are exec of VAT, then the new VAT rate increase will be passed onto your customers automatically. We'll raise the 17.5% standard VAT rate to 20% on the 4th January, which will increase the price the customer will pay for your product.

If your prices DO include VAT

If the headline prices on your website are inc VAT then the price you charge for items won't be adjusted automatically to reflect the new standard VAT rate. If you do require your headline inclusive VAT prices to increase in accordance with the new standard VAT rate please contact us now.

Bulk Price Changes

We are always happy to hear from our customers who wish a bulk update of the item prices in their shop, e.g. New Season Prices. If you require such a service we have a standard charge of £250 + VAT. In order to do this you will need to supply us with a csv file containing the item id/product code + the new headline price (the tax status will be unaffected). Please contact us if you require such a service."
