I've published a poll but it doesn't display on the web site?
For a poll to display it must be published within a group with a layout applied to it that contains a poll component.
For example the display a poll on the frontpage of your web site you would need to publish the poll in the contact database (root group) folder and have a poll component on the homepage layout.
Another reason for a poll not displaying would be if it's publish dates have expired. |

I think you mean 'make an article and put a Poll Component into the article'.
(Although to put it on the Front Page it would need to be added as a Poll Component in the Layout for the front page.)

| | | Marcel (Guest) | 29/06/2010 11:30 | Correct me if I'm wrong, but applying it to a group layout is only fine if you want the poll to appear everywhere within that group.
We want an article with a discussion starter and a poll attached to it - therefore the poll needs to be added to the article.
There is also then a limitation that you can only have one poll per group. — caveat: you can add multiple polls to a group but they all get lumped together when you add the poll component to an article.
So, you cannot have two polls in the 'Prayer' group, each attached to it's own article, one asking 'Are you in a prayer triplet?' and the other asking 'Would you be interested in praying for the nations?' for example.

Rounding errors I guess. Made us laugh.

Well done to some fantastic tutorials. There was 1 minor issue in that my poll appeared twice on the home page. However, I realised that as well as having added the component in to the homepage document, I also had a poll component in my homepage group (under 'Settings>Themes & Layouts'). I've removed the latter and it works hunky-dorey now! Great stuff Insight!
