Backup your Themes or Layouts

If you are editing a Layout or Theme on your web site first create a copy of it to work on. This will enable you to revert back to the original if you realise you’ve made a mistake after saving your changes.

It’s also worth creating a copy of your live layout and theme after your changes have been made just in case someone makes unwanted modifications in the future.

Copying a Layout

  1. Enter the 'Themes & layouts' area of the Web Office.
  2. Click on the 'root' group (the group named after your organisation) to display the list of themes and layouts on your site.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the listed layouts until you see the 'Add a new layout button'. Select this to display a gallery of layouts to select from.
  4. To copy a layout that already exists on your web site first select the other tab, titled with the abbreviated name of your organisation.

Each page in the gallery displays 15 layouts, you can view other layouts in the gallery using the alphabetical navigation at the bottom of the gallery pane.

Once you have found the layout you wish to copy click on a thumbnail to select it, you will be taken to the layout editor to make further changes if required.
  5. Click the 'Save' button to commit your changes to the layout, you will return to the page displaying the themes and layouts selected for your group.

Copying a Theme

  1. Enter the 'Themes & layouts' area of the Web Office.
  2. Click on the 'root' group to display the list of themes and layouts on your site.
  3. Click the 'Add a new theme' button, located below the currently listed themes, to display the themes gallery.
  4. The theme park is divided into two areas: a collection of styles available in the gallery, and the styles you currently have created for your own web site. Select the 2nd tab, named with an abbreviated version of your organisation name, to view the themes on your web site. Once you've located the required theme click on the thumbnail image of it to copy it to your web site.
  5. The new theme will appear in your list of available themes as illustrated below. Click on the edit button to give it a useful title and make any further modifications before saving.
