How do I add a link to download an audio/video recording

You can use the 'Media list' component to create a 'download' link to listen to or download audio/video recordings from a specific group. If you want to create a single link to download a file in an article then follow the instructions below.
Note: if you simply want users to simply 'listen' to the recording rather than download it then you can create a listen link as you would create any link (see how do i create a link for instructions on adding links to articles).

Adding a 'download' link for Audio/Video

You can add a download link as follows:

Step 1 - First obtain the download url for each recording as follows:

  1.  Go to the Audio/video homepage (located at /Media/AllMedia.aspx).
  2. Right-click on the 'download' link for the relevant published recording.
  3. Select 'copy shortcut'(Internet Explorer or 'copy link location' (Firefox) to copy the link to your clipboard.

Step 2 - Create the link

  1. Create a link in your article as normal and select the 'A website (url)' option from the link type drop-down selction box.
  2. Paste the url into the 'url' link edit box. The link format will look something like this:
    http://siteurl/Media/PlayMedia.aspx?download=file&media_id=33399&file_id=36017.
