Release Notes - 21st April 2009

These are the release notes for another round of great updates to the Insight platform. As always if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

Headline Enhancements

  • Payment Group Registration Wizard

We've been busy making a number of changes to make the payment group registration process quicker and more efficient when signing up multiple delegates.
  • Once data has been entered for one delegate, you can now copy this data to any other delegate. Simply click the copy Copybutton next to the delegate you want to fill in, choose which delegate you want to copy from, et voila!
  •  We've made it much easier to add multiple new guests to a registration - from the dropdown list, just pick how many guests you want to add, and we give you the right number of new rows, so you don't have to add them one at a time.
  • Administrators can now pick from existing users when adding delegates to a registration in the Web Office.
  • Payment Group Infrastructure
We've continued to work behind the scenes, fixing bugs and strengthening infrastructure, to pave the way for another series of big new features. Watch this space in coming releases for more automation to help you manage your registrations more efficiently, including auto-approval of edits and more default options to minimise the need for admin intervention.

  • Navigation
Clear navigation is one of the most important aspects of any web site, and most of you will have a Group Navigation or shop Category Navigation component on almost every page of your site. We've done some significant work to improve the configuration options of these components and will be rolling out some powerful and flexible new features in upcoming releases. Watch this space!
  • Order articles by most viewed
The article list component has a new 'order by most viewed' option which means you can move your most popular articles to the top of the list. There will be many situations where this could help your site visitors access the article they are looking for quicker - e.g. in a list of FAQs the most frequently viewed answers would be listed at the top.

  • Search in a specific group
We've added a feature to the Search component so that you can restrict searches to a specific group and (optionally) all its subgroups. For example, if you have a group called 'News', you can add a search box to the 'News' group pages which just searches that group, so that your users can search your news archives.

Other enhancements and bug fixes

    • Article list RSS feed now displays frontpage articles correctly when specified.
    • In the last release we added the ability to select a specific media folder as the source within a media list. However only audio/video recordings were displayed when a media folder was the source location but now document files e.g.PDF fields can also be displayed.
    • Article list components which were set to filter by a specific tag were losing their lists of articles - this issue has now been fixed.
