Working in the Web Office
The Web Office is divided into three main areas: the task pane, the navigation pane and the work pane.
The task pane
The task pane allows you to access the main administrative areas of the Web Office.
Here's a description of each area of the Web Office included on the task pane navigation: Site Manager - The main area of the Web Office designed for managing your contact database and the content on your web site. Query - Build you own queries to select a precise selection of people. Mailing - Launches the mailing centre, a tool that enables you to communicate with different groups using the most effective means e.g.email, postal mailing. Resources - Launches the resources centre, an area where you can manage bookings for resources from site members. Reports - Produce reports on web site usage, organisational structure, attendance records, rota double-bookings and more. Settings - Configure your web site settings such as the address book policy, registration form and acceptable user policy. Help - Link to the online support web site, a reference guide to using the Insight system. Exit - Leave the Web Office and return to the web site home page.
Note: Some of these items may not be accessible to you because you do not have the appropriate access permissions.
The navigation pane
The navigation pane displays the navigation for the particular area of the Web Office you have selected. For example, if the Site Manager is selected in the task pane your site folder structure will be displayed in the navigation pane, or in the Resources centre, the resources you have entered will be displayed.
The work pane
The work pane is the main area that you'll work in the Web Office, it's where you perform particular tasks. The contents of the work pane depends on which item is currently selected in the navigation pane.
